What is Douglass?
Douglass, a Public Benefits Corp, builds intentional products and initiatives for Peace, Love, and Purpose. As a collective group of change maker and innovators, Douglass develops resources, governance structures, and community owned assets that ensure enduring community growth and self-sufficiency beyond the scope of Douglass' engagement.
In accordance with the Beloved Community License, Douglass’ Non-violent and decentralized enterprise services have helped build the initial nodes, hardware and resources needed to get The FreedomTrain Community Empowerment Platform running. As the FreedomTrain Cooperatives and network flourish, Douglass' participation will organically diminish.
Instead of consolidation, we see the success of a future tech economy as one based in community, empowerment, and decentralization.
“Douglass” is named in honor of Frederick Douglass, a seminal figure in the abolition of slavery in the United States, who championed the ideals of universal equality and the promise of a brighter future for all.
